Challenges
Routing on the territory of the outdoor warehouse:
Lack of a clear routing system for vehicles;
Uncontrolled launch for unloading and loading;
Delays and downtime.
Unaccounted product damage:
Lack of an accounting system for broken goods;
Impossibility to sell damaged items.
Low service level and chaotic delivery of goods:
Failure to meet the deadlines for picking;
Errors in the picking process;
Inconvenient pick-up process for clients.
Approaches
Implementation of cell storage in the closed warehouse
Organisation of chaos: the first step was to divide the warehouse space into clearly defined zones and cells. This allowed to organise the systematic storage of goods, instead of the chaotic placement.
Addressing for each product: each product was assigned a unique code that is connected to a specific storage cell. Thanks to the addressable storage system, the search for the required goods became quick and accurate.
Automation for efficiency: implementation of the WMS (Warehouse Management System) complemented cell storage with automation of inventory management. The system keeps records of all income, expenditure and movement of goods, providing full control over warehouse processes.
Organisation of space and information in the outdoor warehouse
Row organisation: the first step was to divide the warehouse area into clearly defined rows. This allowed to systematise the placement of goods, instead of a chaotic arrangement.
Interactive map for visual control: an interactive map of the warehouse was created based on the rows. This tool visualises the placement of goods, enabling easier navigation and searching for the required items.
Electronic registers for digital accuracy: electronic registers replaced outdated paper records. The system accounts all income and expenditure of goods, ensuring transparency and control over warehouse operations. Storekeepers, security guards and other authorised staff have access to the registers, which guarantees clear communication and well-coordinated work.
Module for accounting and sale of damaged products
Creation of a WMS module: Wareflow has a special module for recording and accounting of damaged products. This module allows to clearly identify, categorise and account for damage that occurs during storage or transportation.
Possibility to sell damaged goods: WMS module not only keeps records of damaged products, but also provides an opportunity to sell them at a discount. This makes it possible to minimise losses and get additional profit from goods that cannot be sold at full price.
Email and SMS module for better communication with customers
Automatic notification of order readiness: the customer is immediately notified when their order is ready, which saves time and improves their experience.
Reminder for pickup: the system automatically sends reminders for order pickup, minimising the number of unclaimed orders.
Reminder for pickup: the system automatically sends reminders for order pickup, minimising the number of unclaimed orders.
